Exploring the world with your motorhome gives an unprecedented sense of freedom. Whether you love adventure in nature or prefer to explore cities, finding a place to spend the night can sometimes be a challenge. Fortunately, there are tolerated spots where you can temporarily spend the night without official regulation. But what exactly are tolerance spots? Are they free of charge? And how do they differ from wild camping, which is allowed in some countries? In this blog, we will explain itand share inspiring tolerated sites in Europe.
Tolerated sites are places where you can stay overnight with your motorhome without official permission, as long as you behave properly. Often these are parking spaces or areas where the authorities do not enforce regulations, as long as you respect the environment and do not cause any disturbance.
Wild camping, on the other hand, means spending the night in nature, such as forests, fields or beaches. Although prohibited in many countries, it is allowed in some countries such as Sweden, Norway and Scotland under strict conditions. The rules often include not damaging nature, leaving no waste behind and respecting other users of the area.
Are tolerated sites free of charge?
