Randeris Bison

1. Randeris Bison - Wake up to coffee and... Bison?

It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you are thinking of motorhome camping in Denmark. But in the North West of Denmark it is actually very normal. At an almost completely level gravel site you look out over green meadows full of grazing bison. And for the connoisseur traveler, you can buy bison meat too. It's a quiet, small-scale motorhome stopover with sublime facilities, according to the reviews.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Beautiful location, overlooking the bison. Friendly owners who are proud to tell you about their passion. There is also a small farm shop where you can buy bison meat. Sanitary facilities are nice, new and clean.' - Girafje25

Noordkaap

2. Drive to the end of the world to camp at North Cape

Do you like to take the high road? Then a trip to the North Cape is the ultimate must-see motorhome experience. Everything in Norway is breathtakingly beautiful, but while you are in the area make sure to head up to the highest and northernmost point in the country. There is a free parking spot and a museum to visit. The view as you see in the picture is not guaranteed. But even if it is foggy weather it is incredibly impressive to stand on the edge of the world. Even the drive towards it is spectacular and worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'The last 80 kilometres to the North Cape are magnificent. We almost didn't go, thinking it would be too crowded. But we did and were glad we did. There were no charges for parking or staying overnight, only for visiting the buildings there.' - Oscarben

Stoylen Camping

3. Pick your spot at Støylen Camping

From Norway's northernmost point we descend to a campsite a little further south. Situated along a stretch of water, the Åraksfjord lake, this site offers opportunities for different water sports. You could go kayaking, paddleboarding or swimming. And here you get to decide where you want to park up. Whether that is close to the mountains or next to the lake, is up to you. This is a real gem on the N9 for the lovers of mountains and water. Oftentimes there is plenty of room at the campsite to pick a nice and quiet spot.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Beautiful, spacious campsite. New and very clean toilets. You can go wherever you like as long as there is space. Pay/pin on the wall, works great! We stayed 1 night and it was definitely not busy.' - Unit13

Ferropolis Camping

6. Ferropolis Camping - Why not park in the middle of an open-air museum?

Will you park under or next to the giant excavator is the question. Here at Ferropolis you can stay in an open-air museum of large open-cast mining machinery. Situated on the shore of a large lake, on a spit of land in the Gremminger See, you can pick your preferred spot. The lake was once created by these large excavators, it is an underwater mine. The holiday photo is reason enough already to stay here.

Fun fact: there is a yearly vanlife festival held at the campsite.
