What is a motorhome campsite

A motorhome campsite is actually a regular campsite, where you happen to be welcome with a motorhome. You may find your motorhome among the caravans and tents, and sometimes a field is specially reserved for motorhomes. The latter variant is nice if you like being among other motorhomers. It is then basically a motorhome stopover within a campsite. There is often a service area here to discharge your black or grey water.

Motorhome campsite versus camping

A motorhome campsite allows you to stay overnight with your motorhome. You then benefit from all the advantages the campsite has to offer. But not all regular campsites have motorhome sites. These campsites then only have fields for tents and/or caravans.

Motorhome campsite vs motorhome stopover

In short: A motorhome campsite usually offers more comfort than the average motorhome stopover. These are sometimes quite spartan, ideal if you are passing through and have everything on board in the motorhome. If you plan to stay somewhere for several nights, a motorhome campsite is very nice, as you will find facilities such as showers, (often) a restaurant and entertainment for children. Another difference between a motorhome campsite and a motorhome stopover: many motorhome sites do not allow camping behavior. There, you are not allowed to put up an awning and put up chairs.

What does a motorhome campsite cost?

The price of a motorhome campsite per night varies greatly and depends on several factors such as location, level of facilities, seasonality and the campsite's reputation. On average, the price is between €15 and €35 per night for a site at a motorhome campsite.

Motorhome campsites on Campercontact

On Campercontact you will find many thousands of motorhome campsites. Fortunately, you can easily filter them by choosing the campsite type. You will then find all campsites suitable for motorhomes at a glance.

Of course, one motorhome campsite is not like another. So how do you find the site that suits you best? That depends entirely on your personal preferences, of course. For example, are you looking for a campsite with wifi, a play area for the children, a possibility to discharge waste water or your toilet cassette? Or would you like a campsite where nude recreation is allowed? Or are you looking for a campsite with a dog? Then Campercontact makes it easy for you to filter your search.

We were just talking about the reputation of a motorhome campsite. You can easily filter on that too. Select for example all motorhome campsites with an average rating of 4.5 and higher (on a scale of 5). The number of reviews is another filtering factor. This way, you can be sure that you are only looking at the best sites.

Motorhome campsite booking

Despite the large supply of motorhome campsites, it is quite common for motorhomers to run out of sites. Due to the popularity of motorhome camping, sites are regularly full. As a result, you may have set off for nothing. If you don't want that, contact the site to make a reservation. Campercontact shows all the options for that. A growing number of motorhome campsites also allow you to book and pay directly on Campercontact. Then you don't have to look back.
